Meet Dana & Bonnie the Burro

Hi, I’m Dana- I’m a wife, a mother of two boys, an animal lover, a vet tech of 17 years, and the proud owner of Western Slope Beverage Burros. Caring for animals has always been my passion, and I truly believe they flourish when they have a purpose, love, and a job to do.

After moving our family from town to our 10-acre hobby farm, we knew we wanted to grow our animal family. Around that same time, one of my coworkers told me she had a beverage burro business at her wedding. She shared her wedding pictures with me, and I instantly fell in love with the idea-combining adorable donkeys with creating unforgettable experiences.

That inspiration led us to adopt and rescue Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie has found her perfect role as our beverage burro, bringing joy, charm, and smiles to every event she attends. Clyde, on the other hand, decided the spotlight wasn’t for him- so he prefers to stay on the farm where he can relax and cheer Bonnie on from afar.

For me this business is about more than serving drinks-it’s about sharing the special connection between people and animals, and creating meaningful, memorable, moments.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Bonnie wears a custom pack saddle that can hold beverages, champagne, or party favors. She’s happy to serve drinks to guests that you provide. We do not sell alcohol, but our handlers are certified servers and can serve alcohol. We can serve wine or champagne we just need the bottles to be opened beforehand.

    *We do not supply the beverages for her basket.

  • Bonnie wears a special “potty bag” that hides the sight and smell during events. This is a discrete bag that is tucked under her tail, so your guests and venue stay clean. We make sure everything stays tidy before, during and after her visit.

  • You or your venue are responsible for providing all beverages and ice. The burro does not sell alcohol directly.

  • If dogs are present at your event, they must be leashed and kept away from the burro at all times.

  • ‍ ‍Typically, yes. From our experience at events, one hour is the perfect amount of time for guests to fully enjoy the experience-snapping photos, grabbing a drink from their adorable four-legged server, and soaking in the fun. After about an hour guests are satisfied, relaxed, and ready to transition back to the main event. We’ve found this keeps the experience feeling special, memorable, and perfectly timed.

  • Simply fill out our contact form with your event details! We’ll check availability, answer any questions, and send over your contract. Once you're ready to book, we’ll send you an invoice- a 50% non-refundable deposit secures your date. Be sure to check with your venue in advance to confirm they allow animals.

  • Yes, we’re insured for all events.

  • Operational time is when the donkey and handlers begin serving guests. Once they begin serving, their operational time starts and there are no breaks (eg:for the ceremony) for the time contracted for.
